Thanks to the funding from the Local Buying Foundation, the Care to Lead program is offered at no cost to participants working in early childhood and school-age care services in these regions. This collaborative effort with CLA ensures that educators have access to high-quality training and professional networking opportunities, laying the groundwork for a stronger future in early learning leadership.
The Care to Lead initiative so far has included participation ranging from 10 to 16 attendees for each of the four sessions held so far. Participants are actively building and sharing their leadership skills while fostering professional relationships with fellow educators. A new online learning program complements the live sessions, allowing educators to engage at their own pace and continue their development even after the live program concludes. Additionally, participants have commenced various improvement projects within their services, further contributing to their professional growth.
The benefits of the Care to Lead project extend beyond the participants. Educators working in early learning services enhance their capabilities, which in turn positively impacts the children they care for, their families, and the wider community.
Feedback from participants has been overwhelmingly positive: “I found the opportunities to discuss and share ideas most impactful. It is great to be able to gain insights from others; this is really valuable to me.” Another participant noted, “Great discussions and reflections about realities within services. I found the exchanging of ideas particularly engaging and impactful.”
The Care to Lead initiative exemplifies the commitment of the Local Buying Foundation, CLA, local government, educational institutions, and community groups to cultivate a future-ready workforce. By investing in leadership development, we are not only nurturing the next generation of childcare leaders but also ensuring vibrant, sustainable communities in Moranbah and Dysart.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to support and celebrate the growth of our early learning leaders!
