The Local Buying Foundation has confirmed its sponsorship of the NSW Indigenous Chamber of Commerce’s (NSWICC) flagship event, The Summit 2025. This decision follows the remarkable success of the 2024 Summit, which drew 760 attendees, including 380 Indigenous business representatives. Held on Wonnarua Country in the Hunter Valley, the Summit has become a key annual event for connecting Indigenous businesses with government and industry stakeholders.
The 2024 Summit demonstrated the value of this platform in advancing Indigenous procurement, job creation and sustainability. It provided a space where businesses could engage directly with procurement decision-makers and share best practices as well as exploring new opportunities for collaboration. The scale of participation and the diversity of attendees underscored the NSWICC’s capacity to deliver high-impact events that support inclusive economic development.
LBF’s decision to fund the 2025 Summit was based on a thorough assessment of the project’s alignment with its Sponsorship Guidelines and Funding Output Strategy. The Foundation recognised that the event not only meets all mandatory funding criteria but also serves its broader intent to strengthen regional economies through inclusive and sustainable business practices.
The Summit 2025 will be held over two days in October and will benefit businesses across Singleton, Muswellbrook and the Upper Hunter. By facilitating access to procurement networks and showcasing Indigenous enterprise, the event will help regional businesses build new relationships, gain insights into sustainable supply chain models and participate in a broader movement toward economic inclusion. The NSWICC has ensured that the event remains open to all businesses in the region, reinforcing its commitment to equitable access and community-wide impact.
Through this sponsorship, LBF continues to support initiatives that create real opportunities for regional businesses and Indigenous entrepreneurs, helping to build a more connected and resilient business ecosystem across New South Wales.
