HON Melissa Price is the Federal parliamentary representative for the electorate of Durack. Stretching as far north as tropical Kununurra, down south to Bullsbrook on the outskirts of Perth, Durack is the largest electorate in Australia (over 1.3 m square km!). Melissa is currently in her fourth term as Federal Member for Durack, proof that her strong work ethic and dedication has been recognised year after year.
Morag Lowe has been a local business owner for nearly 18 years, despite her intention when she arrived that she’d stay for around 5 years then onto the next thing. Although born and educated in Scotland, and sounding as though she just left yesterday, she has spent most of her life living and working in very different and diverse countries , like Norway, Greece , Africa, NZ and back to Scotland once or twice throughout the decades. Morag describes herself as an ‘accidental capitalist’ and her young radical self would be quite scandalised by her obvious sell-out! Morag will share some of the ‘truths’ she has had to learn running a business in Port Hedland and will touch on some of her experiences over the years, like ‘Facing Financial Catastrophe’, The Hubris of Success’, ‘ Why Pink Cupcakes and Positive Affirmations will not Close the Gender Gap’, and of course, on the relief of totally, absolutely, and completely letting go of the need to be perfect!
